Ergonomic handling of the pestle, which calls for strength - that of grinding, crushing, crumbling - with confidence. The inside of the mortar as well as the end of the pestle are slightly rough in order to grip the food and crush it easily against the wall. The pestle is made of ceramic and has a birch wood handle. Also designed for its aesthetics, it sports a pretty matte black color and semi-rounded edges.

Care & Maintenance
This piece is made from Emile Henry's Flame or HR ceramic and can go from freezer to oven to table. Let it cool slightly before placing it in water to avoid thermal shock, and use a soft sponge with mild detergent when hand washing; it is also dishwasher safe. Avoid abrasive scouring pads, which can dull the glaze.
Warranty
This product is guaranteed against manufacturing defects under Emile Henry's 10-year warranty, valid from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, accidental impact, or normal wear.
